I have been helping people change their lives for over 40 years and I recognize that you may have reservations and concerns about
reaching out and asking for help, especially if you do not know the person to whom you are reaching out. These feelings and thoughts are perfectly normal and understandable.
I hope that by providing at least some introductory information about me and my personal life and professional expertise, you will feel comfortable enough to contact me.
My most important credentials are that I am a caring, concerned, and intelligent person who has extensive training and expertise as a psychologist, therapist and coach, and that my interest and enjoyment in life, other than my family, is in helping
others.
Over the course of my career as a psychologist, therapist and coach I have worked with many people who are unhappy and troubled and who had difficulty finding the right person to help them. These people were all looking
for some happiness, peace of mind, and some contentment but they did not recognize that help is available or they did not know what questions to ask, where to find answers, or who to contact.
So ...I hope the information below and the information on this website can help you find answers that will direct you toward me or toward someone else who will be able to help you.
A little more about myself both personally and professionally...
My life has been focused on: 1) being a loving, caring, and competent parent and role model to my children and grandchildren; 2) maintaining a healthy lifestyle;
3) expanding and maintaining my commitment to helping others; and 4) developing, maintaining and advancing my professional skills.
I work hard at keeping myself mentally and physically healthy. I have journeyed around the world and traveled to some "difficult" places like the backwoods and mountains of New Zealand, Mt. Everest Base Camp in the Himalayan
mountains, and recently to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, 19,500 feet above the plains of Africa. These journeys often required what I preach, teach, and practice -- dedication, a very strong desire
and commitment to reach a goal, the development of a strong will, and to literally take that proverbial "one step at a time" until the goal
is reached. I have been able to achieve much personally and professionally and to help others do the same.
This leads into the professional area of my life.
I earned my Doctorate in Psychology in 1968, at the age of 24. I have extensive post-doctoral training and hold the most advanced professional certifications and national recognitions possible in my field (see the list at
the bottom of the page).
I began my professional career by teaching undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Oklahoma and then at the University of Pittsburgh, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, Hahnemann Medical College, and Penn State
University. While
I was teaching, in 1970 I started a private practice as a psychologist. The private practice has involved working with clients in the areas of Clinical psychology, School and Forensic psychology,
as well as Life and Personal
Coaching. I am licensed in multiple states and
have provided help to men and women all over the U.S. and in many foreign countries. I have been the chairperson of a national mental health organization and have been a mental health consultant in many states.
Over the past four decades I have helped young adults and men and women change and improve their lives. My clients have ranged from normal, healthy, and successful men and women who want even more out of their lives, to mildly troubled
persons, to patients in psychiatric hospitals, to some of the worlds most severely disturbed men and women.
I provide psychotherapy, counseling, and coaching. Special areas of therapeutic and coaching expertise include:
- Combating stress as well as depression and anxiety
- Overcoming panic attacks and other emotional problems
- Handling male sexual concerns and female sexual concerns as well as fetishes
- Dealing with addictions
- Resolving fears and phobias and obsessive-compulsive behavior
- Providing communication skills
- Resolving co-dependent and marriage and family conflict
- Behavioral and adjustment problems
- Eating and food problems and weight concerns
- Improving self-confidence
- Relationship issues and parenting
- Infertility and adoption

I often find the ancient Chinese proverb "A journey of 1,000 miles must begin with a first step." to be meaningful and helpful for both myself and my clients. I know how
difficult the first steps can be when challenge and personal change is involved. I have been very successful in my life's journeys and in helping others to take their steps to develop new goals and new ways of behaving and feeling.
I hope that you are able to begin or continue your own step by step journey to make your life more productive, enjoyable and fulfilling. After reviewing the information on this site, if you want to consider having me personally
